Description

The IC-7300 is a compact and revolutionary radio that will delight HF operators, from beginners to experts. This new model features a high-performance real-time spectrum analyser and utilises a new direct RF sampling system. The IC-7300’s real-time spectrum analyser offers top-class performance in terms of resolution, scan speed and dynamic range.
Whilst receiving, the operator can monitor the real-time spectrum analyser and quickly switch to the desired signal. The combination of the real-time spectrum analyser and the waterfall display enhances the quality and efficiency of your HF operations.

The new direct RF sampling technology used in the IC-7300 delivers best-in-class RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range) and phase noise performance. Furthermore, the IC-7300 features the 70 MHz band (European versions only – in countries where permitted), a large colour TFT touchscreen LCD display, a convenient multifunction control, a built-in automatic tuner, a voice recorder function and much more.

Real-time spectrum analyser with top-class performance
You no longer need to choose between listening to audio and scanning with the spectrum analyser, as the features built into the IC-7300 are of a higher standard, typically found in high-end equipment.
This means you can use the spectrum analyser or the waterfall display to quickly switch to a desired signal whilst listening.
The IC-7300’s touchscreen features a ‘zoom’ function, which means that when you first touch the oscilloscope screen around the signal you are interested in, the area you have touched is magnified. A second tap on the spectrum analyser screen changes the operating frequency and allows you to tune in precisely.

High-resolution waterfall function
The combination of the waterfall display and the real-time spectrum analyser helps you get the most out of the IC-7300’s reception performance and increases your chances of making QSOs without missing weak signals. The waterfall display shows changes in signal strength over time and allows you to spot weak signals that might not be obvious on the spectrum analyser.

Audio oscilloscope function
The audio oscilloscope function can be used to monitor various AF characteristics such as the microphone compressor level, filter bandwidth, notch filter bandwidth and the CW waveform. Both transmitted and received audio can be displayed on the FFT oscilloscope using the waterfall display and the oscilloscope function.

Direct RF sampling system
The IC-7300 uses a direct RF sampling system. RF signals are converted directly into digital data and processed within the FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array), thereby simplifying the circuit design. This system represents an advanced technology that will prove to be a landmark development in the world of amateur radio.

New function "IP +"
The new ‘IP+’ function improves the performance of the third-order intercept point (IP3). When a weak signal is received alongside strong interference, the AD converter is optimised to minimise signal distortion.

Best-in-class RMDR values and phase noise characteristics
The IC-7300’s RMDR is approximately 97 dB (typical value) and the phase noise characteristics have improved by approximately 15 dB (with a 1 kHz separation at 14.2 MHz, MODE: CW, IF BW: 500 Hz) compared to the IC-7200. The excellent phase noise characteristics reduce noise components in both received and transmitted signals.

Large colour TFT LCD touchscreen
The large 4.3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen offers intuitive operation. Using the touchscreen’s on-screen keyboard, you can easily set various functions and edit the contents of the memory.

Multifunction control for easier use
The combination of the multifunction control and the touchscreen makes it quick and easy to use. When you press the multifunction control, the menu options appear on the right-hand side of the display. You can select an item by tapping the screen and adjust the settings by turning the multi-dial knob.

SD memory card slot
The IC-7300 can store various types of information on an SD card, such as received and transmitted audio, voice memories, RTTY/CW memories, RTTY decoding logs and screenshots. It is also possible to save customised settings and firmware updates to the SD card.

15 discrete band-pass filters
The IC-7300 features 15 discrete RF band-pass filters. The RF signal is passed through only one of the band-pass filters, whilst out-of-band signals are blocked. The coils used have a high Q-factor to minimise loss in the RF band-pass filters.

Built-in automatic tuner
The built-in automatic tuner can store the settings for each band so that it can tune in quickly when returning to the same operating range. Emergency mode allows you to tune a wide range of temporary antennas at reduced power.

Superior sound quality
To deliver superior sound quality, a new type of loudspeaker has been fitted in a dedicated compartment within the die-cast aluminium chassis.
